Since we started our Graduate Academy in 2014, we have taken on numerous candidates in various teams and we’re delighted to be able to congratulate our recently successful graduates!
HR & Training Manager Nicole Mayes, who coordinates the Graduate Academy programme, said: “This mutually beneficial scheme has been a great success. We have been able to recruit and nurture untapped talent – those who would not have been able to apply for a more experienced role at this stage – while it’s incredibly rewarding to be able to offer recent graduates this career opportunity and guide them into the localisation industry.”
The Graduate Academy runs over a period of six months across various departments, during which time each candidate is assigned to one of our teams with a dedicated manager and personal mentor to help them through the programme and answer any questions. Christin, who joined our operations department, said: “The learning curve in the Graduate Academy has been extraordinary. Being a language graduate myself, I think it has given me vital experience in project management, which goes hand in hand with translation.” This is a fast-paced industry which can be hard to get into, and then to learn the terminology, technology and other aspects can be a challenge. The translate plus Graduate Academy provides a detailed learning plan for each person, allowing them to really understand not only their specific role but the industry overall.
We’re very proud that some of these graduates showed such fantastic aptitude for their role that we were able to fast-track them through the scheme. Due to its success, we will further develop the Graduate Academy to cover even more teams and departments.
