Client profile

Our client is a world leader in developing, producing and distributing concrete and worksite technology, compact and construction equipment, as well as providing other complementary services. With over 50 affiliates and 140 sales and service stations, the Group offers a wide selection of product brands and services, as well as an efficient spare parts service.

The Challenge

As product information and content management are a focal point for our client’s e-commerce goals, they decided to introduce Contentserv, a PIM (Product Information Management System), which helps their internal teams collect, store, enrich and manage key product information, such as features and benefits of some of the brand’s core products. As part of their global strategy, they were looking to produce more relevant source language content prior to market adaptation by involving various marketing stakeholders and subject matter experts outside of Germany.

The Solution

Having already established a successful partnership with our client, we were enlisted to develop a bespoke integration with the Product Information Management System of their choice, Contentserv.

Having already established a successful partnership with our client, we were enlisted to develop a bespoke integration with the Product Information Management System of their choice, Contentserv, to facilitate content approval between stakeholders across their organisation prior to localisation for their respective target markets.

Our tech translation experts developed an integration with Contentserv and the machine translation tool DeepL, which allows our client to push out English and German source content in XML format from Contentserv to translate plus’ translation management system i plus®. The content is first analysed against a copy of their live translation memories so that existing pre-approved human translations can be referenced before the remaining segments are machine-translated using DeepL. Once processed, the machine translated XML files are shared with the client’s stakeholders via Contentserv, so that content changes can be made as necessary. Once the source content has been updated, it is pushed out again for human-translation into the target market languages via Contentserv with an option for in-country review using translate plus’ online review tool review plus before being published.

The Benefits

Combining high-quality machine translation technology with human translation work, our bespoke integration with DeepL and Contentserv helps our client enjoy the full benefits of machine translation for internal review processes, whilst reducing costs and increasing the quality of their source and target language content through a seamless translation workflow.
